AUROMEDIA [media as a catalyst for change]: Presentation of the short film THAT'S THE RHYTHM OF LIFE! Today in New Delhi!

Today 9th December 2013 at 5 pm, the short film THAT'S THE RHYTHM OF LIFE! produced during a video workshop by Auromedia Team (Andrea & Laura ) with the kids of Bapu Dham - a very disadvantaged area of New Delhi where the young NGO "Rhythm of Life" has been working for the past two years - will be presented to the families of the young artists as well as to the public.

Being today Rhythm of Life's second birthday, the screening will be followed by a donation of a videocamera offered by SIRO SOLAZZI & ANTONIO MANGIARINI - two Italian friends and supporters of the project - with the aim of creating an "OPEN YOUR EYES! MEDIA LAB" that will permanently work on audio-visual productions from kids.

All our friends are invited to join us today 9th December at 5 pm at Bapu Dham, opp. Jesus and Mary College, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi !

Just a few words about the OPEN YOUR EYES! workshop:

The new literacy of the millennium is media literacy.

Being able to read and write is nowadays extended to the world of the media.

To participate the world we live in and to be proactive with our ideas and needs, we must be able to understand the language of the media and we must be able to express ourselves through that language to make ourselves visible and heard.

The work with children starts with a stimulation on critical thinking about the media, then we help children empowering themselves by acquiring certain skills to express through the media language. After a short technical introduction on filming and then the creative process starts with understanding what is the story the group wants to tell.

The main objective of the workshops is helping children learn how to speak up for their own rights and needs.
